17 Things I Learned in 2017

17 Things I Learned in 2017

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1

  1. See It in Your Head First

And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.  For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

Habakkuk 2:2-3

Everything is a thought!  The laptop, PC, or smart phone you are reading this post on was someone’s thought.  You were your Heavenly Father’s thought and your parents thought (whether they knew it or not).  So, when you think of your highest self, your ideal life, or your perfect relationships, you must see them in your head as thoughts, first.  When you can see those thoughts of what you need and desire and feel the emotion of having your thoughts come to pass, you will manifest that which has already been willed for you!  See what you want in your head and you will see it in your presence later.

  1. A Mustard Seed Will Do

And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain,

Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Matthew 17:20

No one asked you to be someone you aren’t.  But we all are requested to have faith.  Faith is that key ingredient in the slaying of giants, moving of mountains, healing of the sick, and raising of the dead.  It’s possible and you only need a small amount of faith.  When you believe, accept that the Creator is who He said He is and you are who the Creator said you are, there is nothing that you cannot accomplish!

  1. I’m Possible

And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 1:26-28

Do you know how many times people have said, You can’t do that! or That will never work! or What makes you believe you can have that?  There may be times when people (family, friends, strangers, and all) may tell you to give up on your vision, your dream, or your goal.  But, the very fact that you are physically created in the image of the Most-High Creator, is your spiritual indicator of your divine power and position!  I’ve re-learned, because I forgot some years ago, I’m Possible.  I’m the very thing that turns impossible into I’m Possible!

The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

Proverbs 12:7

  1. Family is Forever

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.  And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Mark 12:30-31

I now equate family as neighbor.  When you love someone as yourself, you are intimately connected to them and that connection is eternal.  When we make conscious, eternal connections with those we love, we are forever connected; no matter the physical distance!  Family is Forever!

  1. P.U.S.H.

Pray without ceasing.
1 Thessalonians 5:17

Over a decade ago, I was listening to a former state’s attorney give a speech at a local event.  He said something that I recalled & kept in my heart this year.  P.U.S.H.: Pray Until Something Happens.  When I think of prayer, my idea is a bit different from most people.  For example, most people have prayers that are in a form of request and I used to pray the same way.  I used to beg, even.  Now, I pray prayers that give thanks for what may not, currently, be in my physical possession or experience.  Yes, without even asking, I prayer as if I have already received that which I want.  So, when I pray until something happens, I am not begging or, even, asking, I am praying prayers that say, Thank You!  For example:

Infinite and Eternal Creator of all the heaven and earth, I know You are who You say You are and I know You are a promise keeper. I thank You for Your continuous provision and blessings.  I thank You for Your hedge of protection that surrounds me.  I thank You for a family that loves and cherishes each other.  I thank You for Your unforeseen blessings that continuously overwhelm my family, my children, and me.  Words cannot express my gratitude for Your multi-billion-dollar ideas that You continue to lavish my family with.  And the manifestations of Your heavenly glory, I thank You that it is expressed in my thoughts, words, and deeds.  In your Sovereign name, It is so!

  1. Love Because Of, Not In Spite Of

Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,  Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked,

thinketh no evil;  Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.

1 Corinthians 12:4-6

Charity has been used in place of Love in many instances!  Loving someone, in spite of their shortcomings, sins, spots, and stains, is loving from a perspective of negativity.  When you claim to be loving someone, in spite of, their faults are at the forefront of your focus.  But, when you love someone, because of, their humanness, because they are made in the image of the Creator, and because of their uniqueness, their assets are at the forefront of your focus.  But, in the end, it’s important to just love.

But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

Deuteronomy 8:18

  1. Accumulate to Productively Re-Employ

For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.

Ecclesiastes 7:12

I was raised always waiting for that rainy day!  And because I learned to save a very early age, there were always rainy days that needed my savings.  Fast forward to now, my husband and I have decided to take a stand against rainy days and accumulate our money to re-employ for our purposes.  Simple stated, we are paying ourselves first, investing in our family and our legacy, and purchasing money-making assets and things we can cash in.  Sunny Days Rule!

  1. Create Multiple Streams of Income

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

1 Timothy 6:10

The motto going forward has to More than one is fun, more than three is key!  When we create multiple streams of consistent income, we are setting ourselves up for a lifestyle of freedom.  Multiple streams of income enable families to have options.

  1. Make Money in Your Sleep

And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the corn which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house.

Genesis 47:14

When we talk about money, we must come to terms with what it is!  Money is nothing and, sometimes, money is everything!  Money is a designated medium of exchange, a store of value, and a unit of account.  It can be cowry shells, dollar bills, or gold.  When working to create a lifestyle of freedom, it is absolutely necessary to make money while you sleep.  If you must be physically present to make money, it is usually more difficult to become uber wealthy.  It is imperative that we get our families and children and grandchildren to the point where we are all making money without having to be physically present!

Much food is in the tillage of the poor: but there is that is destroyed for want of judgment.

Proverbs 13:23

  1. Drink Plenty of Water

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

John 4:14

Just as water makes up approximately 75% of the earth’s surface, it makes up approximately 75% of the human body.  Just as water regulates the Earth’s temperature, it helps to regulate our body temperature.  Water carries nutrients and oxygen to cells, cushions joints, protects organs and tissues, and removes wastes.  When we drink of the water that will forever hydrate us, we are hydrated, refreshed, and everlastingly nourished.  Physically, mentally, and spiritually, drink more water!

  1. Know What, When, & Why Your Are Eating

Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days; and there shall no leavened bread be seen with thee, neither shall there be leaven seen with thee in all thy quarters.

Exodus 13:7

It really doesn’t matter if you are Vegan, Lacto-vegetarian, Ovo-vegetarian, or a self-proclaimed Carnivore, it doesn’t matter if you have not love.  Do you boost in your most-vegetarian diet and look down on those who are not eating as you are?  Do you eat a meat-less diet, are overweight, but weigh your meat-less diet above self-control and discipline when eating? I’ve found that observing the Feast of Unleaven Bread (Leviticus 23) has put eating & dieting into perspective.  Removing the leaven (sin) from your home for 7 days, gives an idea of how much we need to me mindful of our diet.  Know what you’re eating (fruits, vegetables, meat, etc.), when you’re eating (morning, noon, evening, late night, etc.), and why you’re eating (for sustenance, for comfort, for solace, etc.).

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

1 Timothy 4:8

  1. Be Flexible

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things, I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Philippians 4:12-13

To be flexible means to be able to bend easily without breaking.  Physical, mental, and spiritual flexibility is extremely important!  Now, you can only think and behave according to your maturity and revelation, but attempt to stretch your body, mind, and spirit as far as you can to increase your ability to bend without breaking.  (That’s going to be a separate post).

  1. 10-4 is Better Than 30-1

I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:  But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

1 Corinthians 9:26-27

The general code for 10-4 is OK or Affirmative.  When working out, I’ve found that 10-4 is OK.  That is, 10 minutes cardio workout 4 times a week is OK compared to 30-1, 30 minutes cardio workout 1 time a week.  The consistency of the workout is what matters at this stage.  The consistency helps you to develop a habit of exercising.  Once the habit is developed, you can always increase workout length and frequency!  Just get in the habit of exercising consistently.

Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.  Every man also to whom God hath given riches and wealth, and hath given him power to eat thereof, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.

Ecclesiastes 5:18-19

  1. Watching the News is No Fun

Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake.

Job 4:14

Because the news is, intentionally, negative, I challenge you to STOP watching it for 7 days.  If that’s too long, try 3 days.  According to Adweek Digital, negative news gets more attention than positive news (S. P. Wood, February 21, 2014).  That means that most people who read or look at the news increase the ratings by buying and watching negative news.  Therefore, I suggest that you stop watching it.  Focus on your mission, goals, and dreams for 2018.  Also, because the news is only about 10% positive, increase the amount of positive information and books you watch and read during your “news fast.”  I guarantee you that it will benefit your thought-life and mindset!

  1. The Definition of Fun is Fun

And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

Ecclesiastes 3:13

Enjoyment, amusement, or light-hearted pleasure; the definition of fun according to  What brings you joy, amusement or light-hearted pleasure?  No one knows how to have fun (for you) better than you.  We, often, attempt to compare what our idea of fun is to someone else’s idea and we lose sight of our true desires.  You can be amused and engaged in light-hearted pleasure anywhere, anytime, and with anyone.

A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

Proverbs 16:9

  1. Work For My Grandchildren

A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.

Proverbs 13:22

When most people want to store enough food, clothing, and money away for themselves to make it until their dying day, I realized that the work I do today has to have greater meaning past one generation.  The work that I am doing today, is for my grandchildren, because learning how to turn fear into faith, hardship into happiness, and poverty into prosperity is not just for me.  It is for those coming after me who will have trials that ABC’s & 123’s will not be able to solve for them.  My work is for those coming generations after me who will learn of me and the work that is being done today & will have an example of what love and leadership looks like (the good and the bad).

  1. Will, Work, & Wait

Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.

Proverbs 16:3

When you are working towards your vision, dream, or goal, you must will yourself to continue to stay encourage when things are not working according to your plans.  When everyone and everything is telling you to throw in the towel and give up, you must continue to work, knowing that it will pay off. You must continue to work…work…work… & wait, work…work…work… & wait.  Then finally, your will and work will manifest itself in the perfect season!
